Compliance Officer – Bitpanda Payments and Bitpanda Metals | Deputy Compliance Officer – Bitpanda GmbH and Bitpanda Financial Services
Balázs Czencz is a compliance professional with over a decade of experience in banking, capital markets, and crypto-asset regulation. He holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University, completed the Budapest Stock Exchange examination with specialisations in futures and options trading, and is a certified treasury expert.
From 2016 to 2022, he held various compliance roles at MKB Bank, where he contributed to major regulatory and capital markets initiatives, including the implementation of MiFID II and the bank's public listing. In his capacity as Compliance Officer, he also supported the Group's asset management entities and played a senior role in the integration of compliance functions during the merger of MKB Bank, Budapest Bank, and Takarékbank, leading to the establishment of MBH Bank.
Following his tenure as a Senior Consultant at a Big Four firm, he joined Bitpanda in 2023. He currently serves as Compliance Officer of Bitpanda Payments GmbH, overseeing PSD2 and electronic money compliance, and acts as Deputy Compliance Officer for Bitpanda Financial Services GmbH, supporting its MiFID II and market abuse framework. Since 1 November 2025, he has also served as Compliance Officer of Bitpanda GmbH, a MiCAR-licensed crypto-asset service provider within the Bitpanda Group.
He is a native Hungarian speaker and is fluent in German and English, with intermediate proficiency in Russian.
